Bookings at Kingfisher Medical Centre

You can book an appointment by phoning us, using our online portals, or visiting the practice in person.

As part of the booking process, we'll ask you for a reason for making the appointment. We do this to ensure that you are seen by the most appropriate clinician.

With the NHS under immense pressures, it’s important that we ensure that everyone is treated fairly and appropriately.

While you can book online or in person, we generally find that phone calls are the best way to book as it allows us to talk through your query properly.

Catchment area If you live in or near our catchment area shown below, we'd love for you to join our practice.
Book phone
Over the phone

You can book an appointment by calling the practice during our opening hours. We will ask you the reason for making the appointment and may need to ask you some basic questions in order to make sure you’re booked appropriately.

Due to high levels of demand, there may be a short phone queue at peak hours (around 8am) so we’d suggest calling later in the day to minimise your waiting time.

Book online
Online

You can book certain appointment types online using the NHS App or Patient Access. You may find that options online are limited to only certain specific appointment types.

You can also use Accurx Triage to seek health advice, request an appointment, and ask for administrative support without needing to call the surgery.

Book inperson
In person

You can book an appointment by visiting our practice reception during opening hours. The process for appointment booking in person is the same as over the phone so we would recommend booking phoning us for your convenience.

Reminders & Cancellations

Appointment reminder texts will automatically be sent to your mobile phone number.

If you have made an appointment and no longer need it, please cancel as soon as possible by calling our reception team, or by clicking the link in your appointment confirmation text. If you booked your appointment online, you can cancel via the NHS App or Patient Access.

We really appreciate if you can cancel your appointment if you no longer need it - that gives us the chance to see someone else who may need that appointment. More than 15 million general practice appointments are wasted each year because patients do not turn up and fail to tell surgeries that they will not be attending.

Late Arrivals & Missed Appointments

If you arrive more than 10 minutes late for your appointment, we cannot guarantee that you will be seen by a member of our team. This will depend on the urgency of your concern and how busy we are. We understand that you may have made every effort to arrive on time, so we will try to accommodate you whenever possible.

If you repeatedly miss appointments without good reason, we will consider removing you as a patient from the practice. You will be warned before any action is taken and given opportunity to discuss this with our team.

Home Visits

Home visits are usually reserved for housebound, disabled and terminally ill patients that are unable to attend the practice. To request a home visit, please call the surgery and discuss your needs with our team.

Translators & Interpreters

If you would like an interpreter during an appointment or want to be contacted by the surgery in a different language, in British Sign Language or in an accessible format, please let our reception team know so that we can arrange this for you.

Chaperones

You are entitled to have a chaperone with you during any consultation, examination or procedure. If you would like a chaperone, please let us know at any time before or during your appointment.
